Ok, Old Man Winter is coming soon. There are a few things we need to do to prepare our yards so he doesn’t wipe out everything we’ve worked so hard for. This is a list of a few suggestions of things you may want to look at getting done sometime within the Month of october.
- Winterize your irrigation system – Drain or blow out all the water in your system to avoid breaks from freeze damage. Also unconnect your hoses from water spickets.

- You might think about sheltering any containerized outdoor plants in an unheated garage or porch for the Winter
- For pots too large to move you might consider wraping them in burlap or bubble wrap during the Winter months.
- Bring in frost sensitive yard ornaments.
- It’s time to bring in your cushions off of outdoor furniture and store them out of the weather.
- Very important – Water young deciduous trees in well before the Winter freeze.
- Spread Winter Mulch after the ground freezes.
