A little information about Ann the Gardening Gal:
“
Everything I know about working in the yard I learned from my many years in the Horticultural School of Hard Knocks. Here I majored in Trial and Error Gardening, under the watchful eye of Professor Sunshine. I’ve taken all the basic classes… Building Stone Walls 101, Intro to Sod Flipping, Advanced Bug Squashing, Hose Wrestling (with a lab), etc. Like many grad students, I’ve done some things right, and others, not so right. I’ve worked throughout the heat, cold, humidity, freezing rain and nasty biting winds. At the end of each semester/season, I passed. Eventually, I even graduated. For some reason, however, I just can’t bring myself to leave campus.”
Ann has been an avid gardener all her life. In the mid 90′s, Ann’s home was featured on the Shawnee Garden Tour. For many years, Ann operated her own floral design business, growing and drying the product needed for her creations herself. In September of 2000, Ann began working part time caring for plants and creating marketing displays for Rosehill Gardens at the Garden Center and numerous local gardening shows. As manager of Rosehill Gardens Garden Center for nearly 5 years, Ann simply continued to build upon her knowledge. During this time, Ann was an active guest on the local Toby Tobin Radio Show, KMBZ 980. She frequently spoke as the Garden Gal at garden clubs and business groups all around the city. Ann was also featured every Thursday morning on KLJC, 98.3 for over a year offering weekly gardening tips.
