2012 is the year of the Geranium! These bright and rugged flowering annuals have long been a staple for mid-west gardeners. Rosehill Gardens is known for our fantastic geraniums. We currently have both Zonal and Ivy geraniums in the following varieties : Zonal- Americana Dark Red, Pink, White, Salmon and Violet, Calliope Dark Red, Ivy Freestyle Red, Cherry Rose and White.
Zonal geraniums are called so because of the interesting color zones on the leaves. Ivy Geraniums trail and cascade, thus the name. All geraniums like to be kept well watered, but don’t like wet feet. Well drained soil in the flower bed and drainage holes in containers are a must for the best results. Zonal geraniums are happy in the landscape bed or containers. They stay very tidy and well contained. Ivy Geraniums love to trail and do well in hanging baskets, widow boxes or any other place they can cascade and show off their bright blooms. These hard working bloomers need to be fed at least twice a month with a good balanced ( 10-10-10) water soluble fertilizer at the recommended rate on the label.
