Family / Interests / Hobbies:

I have a Pomeranian dog who is the center of my world. I always have the latest cute picture of him on me. When I’m not playing tricks and giving belly rubs, I love going to the gym to catch a volleyball game or jump in a dance class. My worst hobby is reality tv; every show catches my attention (for far too long), and I know all the current entertainment news and gossip!

My favorite thing about Landcaping / Designing / Outdoors:

I love working with the clients. We get to create spaces for their families to make memories. Each client is different; you get to know each one very well to learn their character, style, and vision. It keeps things interesting and fun!

My Inspiration:

I originally went to K-State to pursue architecture, but the first year is exposure to all of the architecture disciplines. I found architecture to be too defined, constraining, and technical.  I was more challenged and intrigued by how creatively limitless the landscape is. I didn’t get caught up in all of the technical details of structure, but could sculpt the land into just about anything. I love that design is objective and there is a challenge as well to appeal to eyes other than yours. It is physical art.

Now my career in design build happened because of the economy, but it has been one of the best things to happen to me. I get to work with the crew and learn from my designs. Every designer should get their hands dirty!

Who taught me my most valuable lesson and what it was?

Valuable lesson in life: Have a strong work ethic, passion, and drive for whatever your profession; My father.

Valuable construction lesson: Always take a section! Chip Winslow, KSU.

Valuable design lesson: My theory in design is that it is about the people. It isn’t the land, the water, the benches you provide. It is about how the people perceive and appreciate the spaces we create. In my opinion, the best places in the world are those that create an experience for people. They aren’t enjoyed because they have seating for x amount of people or there is xeriscaping demonstration. They go and enjoy it because it is an experience; it envokes emotion; it tells a story. I learned this theory from several people, William H. Whyte and the designers at OHH.

My ideal outdoor space:

Entertainment! I love hosting events and  making memories. It would also have to have all my unique little touches so that no one else could have what I created. I like having a space that people remember because it is like no other place! Lots of color and unique plants; a collection of unique architectural pieces.

What inspires me:

Passionate people. I love when people get wrapped up in excited about an idea and the ideas explode even further. When someone is excited about a project, you can’t help but be every bit as excited!

My favorite landscape style:

I love clean modern architectural forms softened by natural plant material. The juxtaposition of the hard against soft is so intriguing and current. It’s a risk, but when it is pulled of correctly, it’s absolutely phenomenal.

John McLenon certainly is an asset to your company.  He was so helpful, polite and very nice.  I would recommend him in a heartbeat!

To all who had a part in my yardwork!  Thanks so much for making my front yard so beautiful.  It was really needing a renovation.  Your time and effort are greatly appreciated.  I will enjoy looking out my window and seeing a fresh look.  All I can say is “job well done!”

I wanted to extend a special thanks to the Rosehill Garden team mates for a job well done.  Our yard looks absolutely perfect.

Your landscape Architect, Amanda White is not only very talented but is also very customer oriented.  We are completely satisfied with her finished work product as well as her “get it done” attitude.  Amanda was very focused and efficient in her presentation and handling of the project.  Additionally, the ease of doing business with her was unbelievable;  she always made herself available.

The actual work crew should also be recognized for an outstanding job.  They were very courtious, worked hard and finished the job on-time and left everything in immaculate order.

We wish you all a wonderful holliday season and thanks again for going above and beyond.

Thank you, Jim. Everything is coming along quite nicely.  We are already enjoying the beautiful new look of plant life around our building. We have had a very long construction cycle on the exterior of the branch so the landscaping phase has been fun and refreshing for everyone!

Thanks again,

Glad you and your team are handling all my green projects.  It has a great design and natural feel.  It is very cool.  My customers are blown away.  Good job.  Incredible.

The Smith household wants to thank you for you capable employees who finalized our wishes at our home.  It started with your knowledgeable landscape designer Amanda White who helpted us formalize needed yard projects, and then ended with a great 3 person yard crew under Allison Harrison with Amanda making sure our wants were the result.
Your company over the years has helped us with plantings and stonework and we appreciate your expertise and dependability.

My yard is looking amazing!!!  You are awesome.  I am loving it.  Can’t wait to see the rest.  And the fountains!!!  Thank you!  One happy customer!!!

“Just a note to let you know how pleased I was with Annika Haedt’s design and customer service.  It was clear that she was genuinely interested in ensuring a good outcome and my satisfaction with the project.”
