Meet Our Staff

Ann Vanasse, Rosehill’s ‘Garden Gal’
When Ann began at Rosehill she worked part-time and enjoyed taking care of the roses and courtyard.  In 2007, Ann took over as manager of the Garden Center.  She aspires to educate customers about the use of organic products and follow this trend toward more sustainable gardening practices.  Ann selects unique gifts, home décor, garden ornaments and plant material for discriminating tastes. 

Ann is a self-taught gardening enthusiast,  although previously a KU Fine Arts/Art Education student, she has learned most of what she knows about horticulture from trial and error in the green “School of Hard Knocks’’.  In 1995, her home was featured on the  Shawnee Garden Club Tour.

Chip Hansen
Chip is the “Tree Guy”!  Customers have been coming to him faithfully for years.  Just like “Old Faithful“, Chip is always ready and willing to assist.  His impressive knowledge and experience with trees, shrubs, evergreens, grasses and lawns makes him a gold mine for advice. 

Laurel Taylor
Laurel has been cheerfully serving customers at the Rosehill Garden Center for many years.  She offers a wide range of expertise.  She is more than capable of giving expert advice concerning tropical plants, herbs, annuals and perennials.  She occasionally teaches classes on Herbs, Peppers or TLC for Houseplants.
